How to Read and Write Code

As the name suggests, we’re all about coding. Our goal is that teachers who complete our courses can read code and write their own computer programs and code-based student activities. Our courses utilize interactive web-based tools that will allow students to read, modify, and write code from scratch and see it all work in real time. 

At launch, teachers in our courses will use the Python and NetLogo programming languages. Teachers who complete our introductory course will be able to read and write basic programs in these commonly used languages and will be familiar enough with common ideas of programming that they will even be able to read simple code in other programming languages like Java and C++.
